Like some of you know, I switched over to Sony E mirrorless this summer (Thank you to Sony Nordic). And due to my ambassadorship with Focus Nordic, Im able to use the new F/2.8 zooms from Tamron. In the future, I will do more of these kinds of articles, where I show and talk more about specific gear.
Let there be no doubt, that Sony’s G Master lenses are some of the best on the marked, but their price point is a bit over most peoples reach. Especially for semi-pro’s and amateur photographers who doesn’t make a living out of photography and video. So that makes more affordable lenses from Tamron, Samyang etc is very welcome to the marked.
On the last day of august, I was so lucky to photograph the wedding of Line and Jørgen on the countryside. It was a hot and sunny Saturday, but we had an amazing and fun shoot. I did multiple pictures during the day, but here I will show one specific shoot where I used the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8.
I got to say the Tamron surprises me. Its fast and sharp. Eye-AF works brilliantly too. Paired with the new Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8, I think I now have my favorite duo in my Lowepro bag. Article on the 17-28 will come later on.
What I did on this specific shoot, was to get a picture story of them on the road home with car problems.
I had my Sony A7III with Eye-AF on and I used a Godox AD600BM to block out some of the sun and fill in the shadows. We had a lot of fun, as you also can see at some of the pictures.
I do not have any experience with the Sony G Master 24-70 F/2.8, so I cant compare these two out of my own experience. But I have been talking to others who have testet both, and they say the difference quality is not easy to see. So for most people, this lense will do the job. It certainly do for me.
